10th Grade Global Studies Syllabus

Mr. Tepper

Syllabus

Dear Students:

Welcome to the new school year!  Global Studies is a two-year course.  In tenth grade, we will begin the course with the Enlightenment and end it at the Modern Era.

Some of the themes that we will be studying are Continuity and Change, Geography and History, Political and Social systems, Religions and Value Systems, Economics and Technology, Diversity, and Global Interaction.  Quizzes and tests will be given throughout the semester.  Homework will be assigned as needed.

Grades

Grades will be established via point calculations; each student is responsible for earning his/her grade.  All assignments, quizzes, and tests will be worth a set number of points.  The student can determine his/her grade at any point in the year by following the formula:

  • Points Earned/Possible Points X 100 %

  • A+(100-96), A(95-93), A-(92-90), B+(89-86), B(85-83), B-(82-80), C+(79-76), C(75-73), C-(72-70), D+(69-66), D(65)
